What to expect.

Contacting me.

You can email me, text me or ring for a free chat to discuss your issues and see if therapy would be helpful and we can meet for a initial meeting to see if we are good fit.

Initial chat.

I work both short and longer term depending on the needs of each person or couple. After an initial conversation by email or by phone we would have a 1st session to discuss what brought you to consider therapy and if we both get a good feel about working together. I will say more about how I work and this is also an opportunity for you to ask questions. We would then discuss if or how you wish to proceed.

Payment.

You can pay before you come, by bacs, or bring cash or a cheque. We would discuss this in our first session.

The first session.

This is a time to talk of what brought you to therapy. To express any fears or worries. I will talk a little about how I work and how we might work together. You could ask any questions if you had any. This is for both us to get a feel if we have a sense of a ‘fit’ to work together. You might want to go away and think about it or we might book another session. It’s completely up to you.

How frequently do I need to come.

This is a always a collaborative process which we review as we work together. Some people have found just having 1 - 3 sessions can be helpful. I might suggest 4 to 6 weekly sessions yet the decision is yours. When I am working with people on deeper, longer term issues I may also work over a number of months or years. After ending a period of working together, I always let the client know they can come back if they need for one or more sessions.

Types of sessions I offer

Individual counselling

55 minute session. Pro rata for longer sessions. I don’t have any conc. places available at the moment.

Couples counselling

1 hour session. Pro rata for longer sessions. I don’t have any conc. places available at the moment.

Can one person come for relationship support if their partner does not want to come?

Yes I work with many individuals on what is happening in their relationships. Just one person can change their relationship. If the other partner changes their mind and wants to come along at a later date this is always possible if both partners wish.

Do I offer online sessions? Skype. Messenger etc. Telephone sessions.

Yes I often have online sessions both for individuals and for couples. The fees are the same. Some of my clients live in different parts of the UK or abroad. Often my clients are travelling or can’t get child care so this helps.

Where do I work

I work in Box village, a short drive from Bradford on Avon, Bath, Corsham, Melksham and Chippenham. My work room is calm and spacious with free parking.
